Loma Prieta - Last City 12" - 2008
What is screamo? It used to be hardcore with more then 3 chords, artsy songs structures and intense "emotional" vocals - then literally like an hour later it became pop-punk or something. Maybe it wasGeorge W. Bush's fault. Since then bands have been reluctant to touch the stuff with a yard stick. Loma Prieta, had the balls to take hardcore and make it deep again. I am hesitant to call it screamo because even if I turned one person off to it I would be doing a disservice to the inhabitants of planet earth. Its screamo as I remember it as a younger gentleman. Its some of the best alternative hardcore you could possibly listen to. A beautiful album.
